4 nights / 5 days is the minimum we recommend for a meaningful Himachal couple trip — enough to cover one major destination properly without rushing. 6–7 nights is the sweet spot for most couples and lets you combine two destinations (Shimla + Manali, or Manali + Kasol) with breathing space on the mountain trails. 8+ nights only makes sense if you’re adding Spiti, Dharamshala, or Dalhousie to the itinerary.

For most couples, we recommend private cab for the in-Himachal portion (so you can stop anywhere, at any time, on the scenic trails) and Volvo only for the Delhi–Manali or Delhi–Shimla overnight stretch if budget is tight. Private cabs cost ₹3,000–₹5,000 more per couple per trip but save hours of discomfort and give you full control. For longer luxury or honeymoon packages, private cab is always the better call.
Most Himachal destinations do not require permits for Indian couples. Rohtang Pass requires an online permit (rohtangpermits.nic.in) booked 2–3 days in advance — we arrange this as part of our Manali packages. Spiti Valley’s Inner Line Permit is required only for foreigners; Indian couples travel freely. Shimla has a vehicle entry fee for outstation cars (₹200 one-time).
